How to Change Your Car Battery

1. Safety First: Park on a level surface, turn off the engine and put the parking brake on. Wear protective gloves and eyewear.
2. Locate the Battery: Look in your vehicle's manual if you can’t find it.
3. Disconnect the Negative Cable: Using a spanner loosen the nut and remove the negative (black) cable.
4. Disconnect the Positive Cable: Repeat, the above, for the positive (red) cable.
5. Remove the Battery: Remove any securing clamps and carefully lift out the battery.
6. Inspect and Clean: Check and clean the battery tray and cables.
7. Install the New Battery: Place it in the tray, secure it with clamps, and reconnect the positive cable red first, followed by the black negative cable.
8. Test: Start the engine to make sure everything is okay.
